Zuzanna Rogatty is a Polish designer, art director, and letterer based in New York and Hawaii whose practice bridges systematic branding work with expressive, street-inspired lettering. Originally from Bydgoszcz, Poland, where she studied visual communication at the University of Arts in Poznań, Rogatty is a senior designer at COLLINS, working on complex identity systems for global brands including Google, Dropbox, Dolby, and Sweetgreen. Her personal lettering practice emerged from a desire for creative freedom beyond the constraints of traditional typography, finding inspiration in the gestural energy and time-pressured spontaneity of graffiti and street typography. Rejecting the repetitive nature of conventional calligraphy and type design, she developed a distinctive style characterized by vibrant, bulging letterforms that twist, merge, and challenge legibility while retaining emotional authenticity and handmade quality. Her work has been recognized by Young Guns and the Type Directors Club, and she has collaborated with clients including Bon Appétit, AIGA New York, Esprit, and It's Nice That. Rogatty approaches her lettering as an absolute freestyle dictated by intuition, treating it as a playground for experimentation where gesture and emotion take precedence over utility and perfection.
